October 2020 Nursery Blog…… Finding our rhythm

September feels like it came and went within a blink of an eye, we have welcomed lots of new starters to both settings and the children have all loved being back in the swing of nursery life from lockdown. September for us is all about finding our rhythm, settling all the children that may be new to us or not come for a while, building the key person bonds and making sure they feel safe and secure.

We believe children learn best when they are following their own interests, with child-initiated play being at the heart of this. Since planning in the moment, we have noticed that our nursery settings are calmer, the children are happier, their wellbeing is higher and that both children and practitioners are able to go with the rhythm of the day without feeling the pressures of change.

With this said we still do many adult-led activities with your children, the staff will scaffold their learning with observation, careful questioning and thinking about our continues provision and our environment.

We have written a parent handbook that gives you all the information on our ethos and practise if you have not received one please ask our nursery manager who will be happy to give one to you.

In the meantime I just wanted to share with you some of the wonderful learning that we have been doing across the settings in September……
